About The Redd Family
The Redd Family originated from Bexley, Grand Bassa County. Bexley is located in Grand Bassa County, Liberia. Bexley geographical coordinates are 6° 0' 0" North, 10° 2' 0" West and its geographical location is No. 2, Grand Bassa, Liberia, Africa.
On January 5, 1839, the Board of Directors of the American Colonization Society adopted the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Liberia under its care and established the colonies of settlements of Bexley, Monrovia, New Georgia, Caldwell, Millsburg, Marshall, Bassa Cove, and Edina. The primary objective of the Redd Family Association is about keeping families together. Additional goal is to keep our children involved so that they will remain interested in their history.
The association plans to make the annual family reunions attractive to both adults and children of all ages by making it a can't-miss event for the entire family. Having our kids get together and start having fun, when they didn't know each other before the reunion helps to cement the family ties and eventually prepare them for the transfer process of the family legacy. That's what reunions are all about, keeping families together. It starts with the kids.
The Redd Family Association also furthers communication and contacts amongst the offsprings and spouses of all of David Benjamin & Patience Redd children namely: Janie A. Redd-Davis, Ambrose Redd, Benjamin Redd, Sarah Redd-Cooke, Elizabeth Redd-Deshield, Elijah J. Redd, Amezette Redd-Brown, and Eliza Redd-Moore Watson.
